Post Here about the New Version (Xenforo) of the FOG

So here's something I've noticed over the last couple of days, when I click on a thread that I've already read to the very last post, sometimes the thread will open to the last post and sometimes the thread will open to the first post. 😵‍💫
Here's an example from this morning.
Without being able to view these from your computer, I don't see anything out of the ordinary as you appear to be viewing these with "What's new" instead of "New posts". The threads you tagged as "Last Post" still have bold thread titles, which means there are unread posts in them. The threads you tagged as "First Post" do not have bold thread titles, so you have read all of the posts and there is nothing new. These will open on the first post of the thread.

I just noticed today that on multi-page threads you can select the little boxes so not to go to the beginning of the thread

Peter
Peter: Thanks for all you're doing.

One feature that I liked in the old version of the forum was the choice to go directly to new posts in a thread or to beginning of it. Is that gone now or did I miss something?

Also, I don't see a way to edit the way posts are displayed, especially a way to turn off other folks' signatures (some of them are sooooo long).

I don't have an answer for you. I'm trying to figure stuff out myself. Maybe click on what's new and then there will be a grey bar where you can choose new posts and then the threads appear? Then again all this might work differently if you mark threads as read when you get done with them? I never do that so I really, really, really don't know what happens in that case.

Please see post #44 in this thread for an explanation of new posts.

Please see this post in a different thread to learn how to turn off signatures:

The icon on my laptop opens up the "new posts" page; no problem there. What I meant was that before there was a "new" icon next to each "thread title" that would get you to the post after the last one you had read on a previous session, but if you clicked on the "thread title", it would bring you back to the first post in the thread; very handy if you had neglected to read a thread previously and now changed your mind.

I miss not having the links to the various Festool websites in the header. That sure was convenient for chasing down part numbers and ekat service. @peter halle is that something that can be added?

I didn't notice it until you said something, so it's either been added since you posted or I'm imagining things.

It's been added...I think Peter was busy...🙏...Peter. Just noticed, there's now a lot of good stuff in that header...from spare parts to Festool Recon. (y) That'd also be a good place to put a link to Festool Friday. :)

I am not responsible for that addition. Neither Seth nor I have the ability to make those kind of changes and the kind of changes that Members have been mentioning about colors, layout etc. Your thanks should be directed to @Administrator_MAFA known as Matt. He has been working on fine tuning things since we came alive again. Thank you @Administrator_MAFA !

Thank you @Administrator_MAFA for adding the Festool links in the header...I use those a lot. :)

And thank you @peter halle for directing me to the correct work source. 🪛🔨🪚
