mr_hockey:  regarding the 2 55" guides getting out of alignment, could you elaborate?  Was this the latest guide rails (with 2 of the connecting shims)?  Did the guide flex or just slowly bow over multiple cuts (and how many before it had a problem)?  Thanks!

Greg,

I have the 2 connector system. I use a 6' level to make sure the guides are perfectly straight. This works fine for a couple of cuts. But for me, the move cuts means having to move the guide rail around more ... and this creates more opportunity for the rails to go out of alignment. (YMMV)

Last year I ruined a $130 sheet of awesome curly cherry plywood because the guide went out of alignment (The middle was bowed in about 3/16" :-(  I know I should have rechecked the guide with my level -- stupid me  ;D

Also, as others have noted before, some the 55" rail fit better than others. In my case, I exchange one of my rails at my local Woodcraft and got a perfect fit. I then marked the 2 ends that gave me the best fit.

Hope this helps!
