I have the cs 50 in my sight and I wonder if buying alone (with legs) or set.
Actually I do all my cuts with a MFT/3 and a Mafell MT55 (and dogs) and I manage myself quite allright except for small/thin cuts.

In your experience, would I take any advantage with the table saw and extension tables, sliding side table... for small and medium cuts? Will I put my track saw in a corner and use it only for large cuts (sad because I´ve done a big investment in it...)

Will it be enough for small cuts the cs50 alone (and without the LA Fence)?

As an owner of the CS 70 Set, I can only say that the set is so much nicer than the table alone. I use the extensions very often, except for the slider. The CS50 has a nicer slider though. I also hardly use the LA fence, I do most things with the standard angle fence.

Just a CS50 by itself is just so small.....

As I have not a proper workshop I have to pack-unpack everytime I have a proyect so the 20 kg or so is attrative for me. I would miss the extra cutting depth though...

Well, as Alex said, the CS 50 has a smaller table to begin with than the CS 70.
Therefore the set demands less space (CS 50 cut width is just above 60cm or shy of 54” with the widening table in the set version, though you may purchase the widening table separately)
So in the set version, the CS 50 is much more compact than the CS 70, and makes the widening table more attractive, especially if you want a competent but compact table saw.
The CS 70 SET, especially with the large sliding table is fantastic set up, but it’s going to take up a lot of space.

That said, if you buy a CS 50 Set, you don’t have to have all the tables connected all the time. But in my experience, I’ve left it full with outfeed-, widening- and sliding table attached, since its compact (and I have it on top of a rolling cabinet) I could have left out the outfeed table, and used my MFT/3 as an outfeed table, or any other FT surface as outfeed table.

If you buy just the saw, with legs (recommended; you can always flip them up and place it on table with legs folded and it will be as sturdy as the table it sits on) and you need only the widening table, you could buy this instead: (It will also stiffen up the CS 50 when used with the legs considerably)
This and the very nice sliding table will be very nice accessories to add, if you start with the stand alone saw.

This can also be attached to the MFT/3 or whatever FT rail.

I have to do the same, I don't have a workshop and have to put it up in my garden everytime I use it. Most of the time I just use the basic table, I only get the extensions from the attic when I have to cut something bigger. But the basic table of the 70 is quite a bit bigger than that of the 50.

Perhaps a couple of wheels attached to help transport when folded? I put them in one of the short sides of the mft table (slided in the aluminium profile groove) and they make moving the table super easy

Only once the attachment of the legs to the leg-hinges begins to fail.

That’s the one, yes. (A bonus; one who’s a bit creative gets a CMS module into it too. Or make one for your whatever tool)

Yes to the legs too - but at some point Festool changed the material in the legs, to a heavier steel. I’ve seen both, and the old had a little soft (but a lot lighter) tubes. A hydraulic press fixed it back then.. [big grin]

The newer CS 50 has wheels on one pair of legs, including “leg wings/stabilisers” - too bad these only work when upright.
It could be an idea to “re-use” these by placing them on the chassis or further out on the leg ends? That said, a CS 50 is about 20kg’s, and very manoeuvrable.
