Tom,  here is a pic of the thin pieces I took off.    The thick sides are all loaded up in systainers so I didn't bother to remove them for a pic.  U can see that they aren't super clean but it works.  Obviously just place the rough side down and our all good

That's how I've been making cut outs in a sheet. I was hoping there was a good trick to separating the sheet so I could use it in a shallow drawer.

Right , that's the part I meant I think will be difficult. But looks like NER has a pretty good method.

That's what I was trying to do, but I wasn't as careful as you.  I ended up almost making a hole in the center of one piece with a big hump on the other side.  I even tried using the tablesaw to cut around the edges then use a knife to cut through the center. The tablesaw worked good but by then I was getting aggravated and ended up messing up the center part. Looks like I'll have to take some time to get it right or buy a bigger bandsaw with a lot of resawing height.

Alright, so i got my hands on some Kaizen foam and empty systainers, here is what i came up with

now onto my HL850, i bought it in a classic and wanted it in a t-loc, also i have the large angle fence for it which didnt fit in the systainer nicely with the stock setup    with this setup i am able to fit everything including my second head and angle fence all into one systainer.   i do have to break apart the fence but since i really dont use it all that much its not that big of a deal to me     its in a sys 3 with 57mm foam

this shows the extruded aluminum section of the fence tucked into the back of the systainer.    i had to shave the ribs in the back of the systainer by about 1/16 each to get it to slip back there

I've been wanting to change the arrangement of my HL850 Systainer so that  will hold more accessories. I am thinking about using one of the new Sys Midis.  or maybe a two Systainer set  up one for the planer and one for the bench unit and large fence?

Thats what Im doing. I bought a Syst 4 with the foam kit to put the 850 bench unit and fence in. I figure I can add any other accessory to it such as the undulating head. The planer will be in its own syst. I had to order them. They should be in next week. Ill let you know how it works out.

Mike, that could be Kaizen, i know they did or do make it with a white center.. isnt it great to have everything neat, great for things like those drill bits too so they arent getting beat up bouncing around.

I'm trying to put together a clamp systainer also... Ill to post a few mock up options soon and get some opinions

here are a few options i have for my clamps... i really wanted to fit them in a sys 1  just becasue of where i planned on putting them in my trailer.

im ordering the mft mounts for the bessey clamps from lee valley so they will be too tall for a sys 1 unless i turn them on edge

im also not sure if i can do this one with kaizen based on how much i am trying to pack in, maybe a plywood tray with some foam at the bototms of the cubbies

the second pic is in a sys 2, that is actually not ideal for me based on my space, a sys 3 would work better and give me more room for expansion, has anyone made a tray for their systainers essentially breaking it up into 2 levels?

lastly, i could always go with 2 sys 1's    one for mft specific clamps, few hand clamps and dogs and the other for fs rail specific clamps, rest of hand clamps and rail/fence dog type stuff

any thoughts??  would be helpful  [big grin]
