The Pro5 was a one time tool also.
The only difference was the offering time was much shorter than woodpeckers' typical call period. But balancing that out was insanely low price. Lead time is a bit shorter than WP or about the same if you have to wait til March for yours.
The only real difference is PERCEPTION. Woodpeckers has conditioned their customers to accept ordering within a window and then waiting months to receive their goodies. Festool has conditioned their customers to expect to get their tools from the dealer network in a couple of days.
That the ordering window was only three days stinks, but a short ordering period then waiting for your tool isn't really any different than the WP model.
