Problem 1400 Router

I had desired to up my router game, and had purchased a complete Festool router table setup to attach to the MFT.  However, when mounting the 1400 router inverted in the table, the ratchet system jams, making changing bits completely inconvenient - impossible, without tearing down the table to change the bit (not exactly "faster, smarter...").

This does not happen "occasionally," it happened "every time I used it."

I retired the whole system, because without the ability for ease of setup; there is no reason to have it.

Wonderful router - upside right.

I have two VLs and have zero problems with my 1400...possibly attached improperly.  The CMS' work with the three standard routers but each attach differently.

Is the Festool router table compatible with the 2200 and the 1400?

Yes, I originally installed the 1400 but I swapped that out for the 2200.

The ratchet jams when the trigger lock is engaged.  Make sure the trigger isn't locked in the on position.

After discovering the Triton routers many years ago, I wouldn't use anything else in a router table situation.
They are not so great as a hand held, but in a table, the form-factor is fantastic.
For about the same price and a comparable router it's like getting a lift built into it and everybody know how expensive lifts can be.
I love my OF1010 and OF1400, but I just can't see using either of them upside down? Depth adjustments have to be a downright pain?

In a shop-built router table, yeah probably.  In a CMS rig, they're really no different than the Triton.  Bit change and depth adjust are both over the table.  Both really nice.

The collet lock, though.....  [mad] My only gripe.  It's on the opposite side from where you stand, so you have to grope around for it while halfway bent over, with one arm still on the collet wrench.  That auto-lock thing Triton has is WAY better.

I embarrassingly missed the memo regarding the trigger lock.  Some times the simple "documentation" leaves us in the dark a bit.

I have fortunately found enough pieces to mount the 2200 router in the table - even though "we are not supposed to" in the US.  If safe enough for Europe, I figured I will be fine.

That leaves my 1400 router available for free hand work.

Thank you all for the advice and comments.
