Problem setting parallel guides on Guide Rails

I just bought the parallel guide and extensions set.  I was in the process of setting it up and am completely stumped.  The parallel arms attach to the guide rails quite easily.  My problem comes in trying to set the cutting edge of the guide rail to zero on the parallel arm index scale.  The instructions say to set the stop on the arm at 300 mm and measure to the cutting edge of the Guide rail.  Problem is the closest I can get is 310 mm. Its a pretty simple adjustment; the mounting clamp is attached to the arm through slotted holes, the slots just aren't long enough. Both arms are identical.  Anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong?  The Guide Rails I have are from 2009 and about 185 mm wide (including trimmed zero clearance splinter strip plastic).  I can't believe the Guide rails have been changed.

I just used my set for the first time today and it took me a minute to realize there is an offset on the little adjustable stop, there is an indicator tic mark that lines up with the # on the parallel guide. The part of the stop that references off of the material being cut is at least 10mm closer to the blade, but this face is not what you adjust to the #'s. My explanation may not make sense, but look on the little stop for the reference mark and see if that is your issue.

Thanks guys.  RMW was right.  I was trying to set the guides using the stop edge set to the ruler and I should have been using the index mark on the stop.
