...My old Kapex stand was black and the amount of dust that showed/accumulated on it drove me nuts....

I was thinking essentially the same way - imagine how easily black will show sawdust - in a woodworking shop.  I suppose black would be fine if you really enjoy vacuuming your Sysports.  Mine is white!

I recommend making the drawers with shallow sides, fronts and backs, especially if you intend to roll the Sysports around your shop.

One question......We are festool users right? So what is this dust your referring to????  [tongue] Ok thats two questions..........

Wayne,   [welcome]   +1 on the black color.  I'd like to see what it looks like with "Festool blue".  It's almost black.  Thanks for posting pictures.... and thanks for posting a link to that $4k systainer port too.  I must have that. [thanks]

Hi stoolman

I finally got the time to do some work on those blue sysports renderings, i also took a bit of time out to model the systainer ( not an easy task ) and tried out some colour variations on them to. Hope you all enjoy the renderings. [cool]

And then my favourite rendering. ( The blue really did come out nice )

on the HOLY crap you are an awesome 3d  modeler

by the way welcome to the forum
Craig

Thanks for the welcome Craig. Im still learning alot with 3D max but the more i do the easier it gets, just wish my pc was about 10 times faster cause rendering these pictures takes foreeeeeeeeever and a day.

What do you guys think about the green and blue systainer???? Come on festool make a plan man [thumbs up]

WOW.  I cannot believe how perfect those renderings are.  I feel like I'm looking at an actual photograph.  I really, really like the deep blue for the Sysport cabinet.  For a little while the Mini Systainer was available in that green color.  I didn't get one.  (and I think I'm happy about it).

You need to be careful, people are going to think there are some new product choices avialable.  ;-)    Like if you make a cordless Domino..or the oft desired Sortainer V (three large drawers)

Joe,

I don't know how available - or at what cost the others are.  I believe they can do custom colors - with a large enough order - and print logos etc.

This might give an idea of what the colors look like better:  [attachimg=#]

Very nice job on the renderings! I really like the dark blue mini sys. I'm not a fan of the green one, Festool came out with one for the new sanding block, it's the ugliest thing ever.

Peter, thanks for the link, I had no idea some many colors were stock.

Wayne,

You could go to this link and see the colors that are available:  Systainer colors

Thanks peter, i know about the tanos colour range, just wonder if there will ever be festool branded systainers in different colours?? I doubt it.

LOL i thought the green on ewould be nice for some reason but now its hurting my eyes [eek], I remember now that i have seen the mini systainer in green, like you said with the sanding blocks.

Wayne,

Very nice job on the systainers - you're right about it not being an easy task, I did some myself in SketchUp a couple of years ago. The systainers look like reasonably straightforward shapes until you try modelling them! Here's some of my SketchUp ones, rendered with Indigo:

[attachthumb=1]

I'm not very good at the rendering side - I don't know how to set up lighting correctly, and it never comes out right (the above is with the default settings, and I don't know how to alter them!).

Anyhow, I love the sysports, especially in the dark blue!!! [thumbs up]

Hi Johnny

Those systainer models look perfect to me very nice job. You even did the inside ( i just dont have the time right now to bother with the inside of mine  [tongue] ) Lighting can get a bit involved but when its right you get photo realistic results.

Alright then im amazed this post has taken off as well as it has.

Now if anyone has some ideas or designs for sysports let me know so we can keep this going. I'll try modeling your ideas and see if, as a group, we can come up with the perfect sysport......or we could call it the FOGport [thumbs up]

Wayne, I love the deep blue sysport.  Wish I colormatched for mine, I used the festool gray like so many others.  It's got me thinking for future projects though.....Hmmmm!  Great thread!  [thumbs up]

Hmmmm, I wonder if we could put together a big enough group order to to have custom color (I like the dark blue) with a custom FOG logo made up. Anyone interested? If this idea gains some traction maybe a mod could split this off into a new thread.

You can order a single systainer with a custom colour from Tanos. But if you want a logo imprinted on it you'll need to start with a 50 units minimum.
