Wood_Junkie said:WOW. Really, really nice renderings. The only things I would suggest differently is the Tanos handle, instead of the ribbed Festool handle, and the simple/single barrel lock instead of the latch locks (the barrel lock is also cheaper @ $13).
I would definitely get a few of these and use them for accessory / special purpose transport. E.g. tool tote, router bits, screws, Dominos, abrasives. Since those things usually go along with a primary tool it would set apart the accessories. Also, the tool systainer labels have the item, serial number of the tool, etc that needn't necessarily be user/tool specific.

I tried model the barrel lock a while back but it makes the systainer look like a money box [tongue] and i would think that when you carried it around it might dig into your legs or anything else you happen to walk to close to.
Brice Burrell said:Wayne, great job on the FOGtainers! The first rendering looks like it's the real thing and second only has the slightest CG look. It sure would be cool in we could get them just like you've shown (minus locks). I even kinda like the green handle.

The Tanos smooth & rounded handles ARE much more comfortable in the hand, IMHO. I got some Tanos boxes from LV a month or two ago and swapped the handles onto my heavier Systainers like my tool tote, and TS55 case ('cuz I'm usually carrying the TS55 on top of the Sortainer IV, on top of the Midi... so pretty heavy stack).
For anyone that's intersted just in those handles, you can order them individually... $15 each.

This barrel lock? The tongue is on the interior. http://www.japanwoodworker.com/product.asp?s=JapanWoodworker&pf_id=25.114.001&dept_id=23352

Brice, it may be ugly, but it is certainly possible to locate it quickly. And this is a good quality to have in a first aid box: http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-wish-list/systainer-first-aid-box/.Brice Burrell said:Very nice job on the renderings! I really like the dark blue mini sys. I'm not a fan of the green one, Festool came out with one for the new sanding block, it's the ugliest thing ever.
Peter, thanks for the link, I had no idea some many colors were stock.
I can confirm that the Tanos handles feal better in the hand. Much better.waynelang2001 said:I was looking at the Tanos handles but went the other way. The ribbed handle to me looks better, but the Tanos handles do look like they would fell better in the hand.[doh]
