Hi, I was given a PS 300 jigsaw a while back and when I came to use it for the first time I noticed that after inserting the blade it doesn’t sit straight. It looks as if the when releasing the locking lever it pulls the blade across to far so it’s not sitting straight through the guides by quite a way out. Is there an adjustment I’m missing to straighten it up? It’s not that the foot plate is out as the blade is visibly off down the jigsaw body itself. Releasing the locking lever slowly it hits the blade, gets to a point where it’s sitting straight then pulls it over another few mm. is there something simple I’m missing?

I think that it's not the blade clamp/lock that needs to be adjusted, rather than the guides. There should be a screw that secures the guides and allows lateral positioning.

I no longer have my trion, but I never got mine to cut  square using the guides, even after setting it up meticulously as in the instructions mentioned here at the time.  (I think it was, pull the blade forward, close the guides, then loosen the guides untill the blade pops back)

So I used with my saw with the guides loose, for years and it worked ok.
I was planning on figuring out how to get it to work properly, my guess was, that the part of the guides that remains in place wasn't alligned properly, but my van got broken into, and a lot of tools got stolen including the trion; so I never got around to it)

From the looks of it your saw is worse than mine was.
