Question on Kapex "Bevel Limits"

The Kapex has, as I understand it, a switch setting that limits the bevel setting in one position to 0-45 degrees to the left, a second position goes 0-45 left or right, and the third is 0-47 left or right.   

So what's up with this?  Does the first setting have some advantage for the machine?  If not, why don't we just leave it set to the widest range?

I must be missing something.  Please set me me straight.

The first setting, 0-45 degrees, means that you can tip the saw & quickly lock it at 45 degrees.

If you just left it on the maximum setting, you'd have to tip it to 47 degrees, then manually wind it back to 45 degrees.

The fact that it has the first setting saves time, since it's most likely rare that you'd need to go beyond 45 degrees.

People often ask the same about the 0-45 setting versus the 45-45 setting. On the former, it's much quicker to set the blade vertical again since there's a stop to set it to.

It just depends on what you are cutting and what you need to get to quickly.

Every saw I have owned had a set-up just like this.

I rarely find the need to do bevel cuts but, most of them seem to need the saw to go left.

I think the settings are in the appropriate order for the way one normally uses a saw.

Its Obvious really!  So you quickly go to 45 and then straight back to 0  with out the needing to look.
