Question on replacing FastFix keyless chuck for CXS drill

According to the 2011-2012 Festool printed catalog, the keyless chuck that comes with the CXS drill maxes out at 5/16".  The FastFix keyless chuck with a 1/2" capacity (496 905) listed on the accessories page is supposedly compatible with the CXS. Is there a reason why the 1/2" chuck isn't provided with the CXS drill, and if the two really are compatible, are there any downsides to using the 1/2" capacity chuck with the CXS?

The only reason I can think of is if the CXS has a ton of problems with drill bits much larger than 1/4" in diameter, but nothing that I've read indicates that this is a huge issue.  I'm sure it won't be like using a C15/T15, but I don't think that it's an impossibility for the CXS to drive the occasional 3/8" or 1/2" bit, based on reviews.

The big chuck works and I have used it to demonstrate that it will work with a 5/8" twist drill that has a reduced, 1/2" shank. That's not the combination I would choose for such a task, I was just being pedantic.

I don't think the typical use of a little drill, like the CXS, would warrant such a big chuck. It would be "out of balance". For the occasional use, it does work, however.

I have used the chuck from the CDD on my CXS, I think the reason Festool decided to make the smaller chuck is because the larger chuck makes the CXS front heavy, If i put a 10mm bit in the CXS with the larger chuck it does not stand, it falls forward.
