Hey all,

I have the GSH 25, a quick review here for those on the fence.

Sorry to say, but I can not say I'm impressed  [eek].

  • The audio sounds is at best 5.5 (out of 10)
  • A lot of interference (you can not use it outside when walking, you hear the wind for some reason)
  • Some static noise when no audio is playing. This is by far the most annoying thing.
  • I find the replacement of the ear buds a horror. Especially the "audio" versions. If you have glasses you probably need them...
  • Touch control below par, often doesn't seem to understand 1,2 or 3 tabs
  • Since they have basically 2 type of ear buds (one for audio and one for sound protection, but there is no storage for it

I will be trying the sound protection over the weekend...

All in all very mediocre and not worthy the FT brand. I guess they labeled it as FT and comes from elsehere....

Honestly disappointed  [sad].

I’ve been using my GHS 25 quite a bit lately.  I love it for the hearing protection while listening to something or having to take a phone call.  Definitely more effective than my Bose noise canceling buds.  I also like being able to turn off the noise cancelling so I can hear someone who is standing next to me without taking them out.  But, I agree that it is like turning on a microphone and so it sounds tinny and wind affects it.  I don’t leave it on that mode for long.

I found the instructions to set the hearing protection levels very confusing.  I am a visual person so I created this simple diagram below to picture what to do while tapping on the left ear bud.  Here is the description.

When I take the buds out of the holder, it starts in full hearing protection mode (most quiet).  Tapping once lowers the hearing protection one notch and beeps once.  That lets me hear what’s happening around me a bit without too much tinny/airy sounds.  Tapping once again lowers the hearing protection to the lowest level with the loudest ambient noise.  When I reach that level, it double beeps to let me know I’m at the level.

Then I double tap on the left ear bud to raise the hearing protection level one notch (one beep).  Then I double tap to raise the hearing protection level to the most quiet and it double beeps again.

I hope this helps anyone who was flummoxed by the instructions like me.  Sandy

Well yes. The weird shape cause turbulence in the wind = noise. The same occurs for me when riding a bicycle beyond ~24 km/h.(*) Letting your sideburns grow thicker reduces this by a lot.

(*) That is without earbuds. With earbuds it starts at a way slower speed. Besides the distraction and the lower awareness of surroundings it's the main reason why I don't use any earbuds when riding.

I've been using a set of Bose QC25s for the last couple years and TBH it's kind of ideal for me for hearing protection. Only downside is that I can't wear them with a hat. Was looking at the GHS 25's as a result, but think I might stick with the Bose after hearing reviews like yours and others.
