Rainn's Bed

My wife is putting me to work while I'm on vacation, but I got to go back to work next week so fewer projects for a bit. So I made my son Rainn a bed. It is made from Alder with Poplar for the mattress to lay on and Baltic Birch, because we originally thought about painting the inside some bold blue, orange combo... see the Eames for where I got this idea. Did I mention we love MCM.

So this was done in three days quick and simple. I should probably give credit to Land of Nod, my wife liked the Blake Bed so I did something really similar. Beats paying 700 buck for a bed, this cost 78. I did get a sheet of Baltic Birch for 5 bucks because one side had some deep gouges in it, so really add 11 bucks, but bed for under 100 bucks it is possible.
