You're killing me Ron, that's a great photo. I'm a big rail fan and have always wanted to ride a cog railway but figured they were only operational in Europe.
So, for many years I vacationed in/around Denver every summer and usually spent about 10 days at Estes Park enjoying the outdoor camping in the mountains with my motorcycles. As a prelude, I usually stopped at Pikes Peak first and took a run at the mountain before I ambled on to Estes Park to settle in. I've climbed up Pikes Peak in a car, a Bultaco 350 Alpina, a Norton 750 Commando and a Bultaco 360 Pursang. Never once did I imagine there was a cog railroad option. [crying] That would have been a great experience as evidenced by your photograph.
Then again, I'm talking about years ago when the fee to traverse Pikes Peak was ZERO $$. I'm assuming the cog railway was up and running back then but that I was just oblivious to its existence. [sad] [sad] Had I only known...
