The ratcheting collet rocker on my OF2200 is not engaging so I can't remove the bit I have in the collet.  The router is unplugged and the on/off switches are not engaged.  Any ideas?

I have not had this problem, but I was thinking as long as the collet turns freely, plug the machine in and turn it on and off and then see if the rocker will engage.

Had the same issue a few days ago. It was due to wood dust getting through the cover when used in the CMS. Just take the black cover off that surrounds the collet/ shaft blow the dust out and reinstall.

Thanks Jobsworth, saved me a trip to the Festool Dealer, wood chips & dust were preventing the ratchet from engaging.Removed the dark blue cover with four screws and gave it a good clean out. Now works as normal. Thanks a million! :)

I'm looking at buying a used OF2200 and the current owner says the rocker was bumped while the motor was running and needs replacement. Seems a little odd as I thought the rocker was locked out when the trigger is pulled (at least that's the way it works on the OF1400)

The rocker itself is relatively inexpensive (495215), but I'm wondering how straightforward a repair would be. Anyone tackled this? My main concern is that the surface the it engages on has been stripped or damaged ... and if that's the armature it would be a way more expensive repair.

If you can take the pawl cover off before you buy it you may find it just has some debris in the housing.

Thanks Tom. I would be buying this online so kinda have to take in “as-is” condition, just trying to figure out the worst case scenario. Do you know if the rocker pawls engage directly onto the armature shaft?

I do not know and the E-kat it is not clear. If I remember tomorrow I’ll take a look at one of mine.
