Nice..., new Systainer design (first one for me), then I cried when I noticed that not all the ID card/label pockets made the jump to the new design. Why do you think we eliminated the side label pockets? Some of my transport/storage arrangements present the side/end of the systainer (to ID systainer contents in a stack) so all my pre-sys3 systainers make use of all the label pockets. Looks like I'll be taking the "sticker" route [sad]

The new Gen Systainers are meant to be used in vehicle-based systems (Dr Bott), which implies only the fronts being visible. Nonetheless: a bad design choice.

Systainer3 was just designed with really one thing in mind; Bott racking. Everything else is half-assed about it. The nice height system where you could make two same-height stacks with differently sized Systainer is gone. More space is wasted because just about everything is now in a bigger Systainer. The front lid rattles in a stack of coupled Systainers. Etc.

Yeah, I hate to keep beating this dead horse, but you are absolutely correct. Unless you are using the Bott racking system, the whole thing is a mess. They had it right and turned their backs on the rest of us in favor of (what I perceive as) a small minority.  I really have no clue what the percentages are, but I don't know anyone who uses a truck rack set-up.

Ive got no problem with em, actually like em; but i always store mine face forward, so i can pull it out on a drawer slide, take stuff out and push it back in.

If i was heavily invested in a setup like others though, where it is stored sideways, i could understand the frustration.
