Recommend a good lumber supplier in/near Limerick, Collegeville, Pottstown PA

Looking to try my hand at furniture with some simple side tables so looking for good lumber and maybe some pre-finished ply. Anywhere i can go in SW Montco? The local box stores don't have anything remotely suitable.

Stop by Woodcraft in Downingtown or New Castle Delaware. Woodcraft in Allentown has a different owner.

Pick up a copy of Fine Woodworking and look at the lumber ads in the back. There are some places in PA that advertise there.

The Woodworking Show in Timonium Maryland in January will also have wood dealers.

Although probably a 1 hour drive for you Hearne Hardwood near Oxford PA would be worth the trip - they have just about anything you could want. They have a website with prices etc.

I have used Industrial Plywood a few times. Great prices, and great products. Also will deliver free with $300 order, and as we all know that's only a few sheets of plywood [emoji849] Double check on that for your area.
Hearne does have pretty much anything you want, and great people there as well.

Fessenden Hall would be the distributor for plywood. For hardwood try Spacht Sawmill in Worcester Township (near Skippack), he carries a lot of local species and has been featured in Fine Woodworking. There are a number of other small operations around that you can usually find through Craigslist.

Geeze, Mike's still there? Before we moved we lived in Yardley, he was my go-to guy. Milled and kiln dried a lot of his own stock.

Getting off track a bit but there's a guy near Hammonton who mills urban recovered trees, probably falls within an hour of Montco. More of a slab kinda place.

That sounds like just the place i wood go to.  A few years ago, i was thinking of getting a band mill and sawing my own logs.  A little clear thinking and I decided that all that work might be a wate of time.  i had already been 39 for about a hundred years, give or take , and i decided there was not enuf incentive to cram a bunch of logs into my already over extended schedule. So i searched thru Woodfinder.com and found a guy with a band mill about 40 miles away.  He was a one man operation.  It took me a little more than an hour each way, but it took nearly a day to make the round trip.  We spent more than a couple of hours swapping stories.  I decided then and there that it was a whole lot more fun incorperating "historic" tales with hauling lumber than busting my tail rolling logs around.

Tague Lumber. There’s one in phoenixville but it’s small. They can generally get anything in within a day from their other locations. Kennet Square has the biggest selection!
