RED Lithium the Next Generation!

I wonder how powerfull the NEW Milwuakee  FEUL range drills are!  They are claiming they are really powerfull! I would like to get my hands on the IMPACT FUEL when its released in the UK.  Just hope it doesnt have the same fault the current M18 Impact has

I have not had much luck with my M18 Impact drill I have had it replaced 4 times  no questions asked very quick service very pleased with the service so far better than Festool actually cus they gave me a BRAND new drill every time instead of repair AND I didnt have to keep rewarrenty the new tool unlike FESTOOL

but just a little annoying that I need to send it off though.

I love the drill has enough power just after 6-8months of normal use I looses power  and I have found out Milwaukee have admitted that their is a motor problem and they have a new motor to replace it so im hoping when I send mine back again they will have the new motor.

i tried them the other day and found them heavy as hell. no more power from thier 18v as there is from my 14.4 panasonic

I still use a 36 volt lithium ion Dewalt set, hammer drill, circular saw and sawzall. You cannot listen to any radio while the battery is charging. Will the red lithium interfer with radio signal?

No interference.

[eek], why would you make a copy of the most hateful sliding mitre saw ever made?

I agree!!  BUT saying that  I have seen SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many trades men and companies own the dewalt version!

Yeah, the one I used to work for back when I was an employee. Looking back I've no idea why I didn't just buy my own, apart from being fairly compact they have nothing going for them.

That  Milwaukee saw looks good to me!
WHen they come over to the states I will have a good look at them.
The rails on that saw run like the Kapex's. The table and fence look like dewalt but the rest doesnt.

Looks very little like the milwaukee IMO
Look at the rail setup

Ummm I am afraid your wrong not being funny dude but come on how do they look the same? Clearly you are looking at the wrong Dewalt saw.  This is the one Milwaukee has copied Dewalt dw777

And you have a close look at one dude trust me  they are crap design.

aaaahhhhaaa
We dont have that here! I thought you might be talking about a different Dewalt.

How is the design, crap? I genuinely want to know.

I def. believe you, it is sad when all the chinese junk gets a USA name thrown on it. Makes me sick. WHat happened to ingenuity?

The Milwaukee MS216SB and the DeWalt DW777 are two completely different saws. They only have a superficial resemblance.

The rails pivot with the rest of the saw instead of sitting parallel to the table, therefore you can't use it to cut grooves and compound cutting is a real pain, the saw always wants to bind.

Also the slide action,on the dewalt at least, is really heavy making it a tiring saw to use.

In a bit of an odd coincidence I actually have the 712 and find it to be a very capable saw, if a little cumbersome to cart round site.

I disagree they are pretty much the same how can you say they are completely different?    The method on how to use the saw is IDENTICAL! That alone makes it pretty much the same!

You gotta press the LEVER handle for the Guard to lift up  on BOTH DEWALT AND MILWAUKEE  in the USA they dont have ANY SAW on the market with that  method of blade guard.

BOTH  are spring loaded PULL OUT SAWS

They are pretty much the same just colour difference.

+1 what Dominion said!  Thats exactly why its a crap saw!      The sliding being heavy always ALWAYS gets worse as it gets older  eventually it gets that bad that you end up pulling the saw OFF your bench trying to lift up no joke!  The company I worked for had 4 of them all from different ages with slightly new models.  They all ended up sticking and getting stiff so every time you tried to lift the saw to do a cut it would tilt the base up from your bench.

This is from using the DEWALT!  I have not used the Milwuakee one so they might run smoother and all BUT still the with the Milwaukee you cant do grooves  with it.

The only thing I liked about the dewalt and thats just doing 90 degree cuts is how smooth and clean it cut.

Because they simply are. There's loads of differences. The Milwaukee is a completely separate design. If you say the DeWalt is crap, I believe you, seems you speak from experience. But that doesn't mean you can generalise that to the Milwaukee just because it looks a bit similar.

The method to use many tools is the same. Doesn't say anything about build quality.
