Refinishing the exteriors ...aluminum clad/wood window

We recently purchased a 1988 fixer and although the windows are of good quality, the aluminum exteriors are faded and chalky. Only 14 windows. Any recommendations for prep, primer material and finish material?

Wipe clean or power-wash. If they were previously painted you could use a number of products but if it’s the factory stock aluminum and its chalky I would use Sherwin-Williams MSA (multi surface acrylic) no primer necessary.

Yea man, If they don’t they will order it for you

If the windows are powder coated then try cleaning them with a damp cloth and VIM. Make sure you use the regular Bleach free bottle.
Once clean a good coat of quality car polish should work to bring them back. This is all I every do to my chalky gutters and dull deck rails.

On aluminum I would just use MSA, no primer. If you were going to prime it then you could paint with a number of different products after.
