To enable the Festool warranty, must the purchaser register the tool with Festool? Or is that taken care of by the dealer when the purchase is made from an authorized Festool dealer?

Your dealer should be registering your tool on your behalf. We do have plans to offer the option for customers to register their own tools soon as well for peace of mind.

I do see your tools registered by Woodcraft over the past several months.

Thanks. I thought that was the case, but I couldn't find verification of that in any of the manuals or online. Probably just didn't look hard enough.

I have a sheet here that invites me to register online.  But I cannot find the link to do this on your website.  Can I register my tool for the 1/2 warranty??

The tool should be registered with Festool already by the dealer that originally sold them. The serial number should be all that is needed to have it covered by warranty. I believe that you could check on the registration by calling Festool.

I had a question regarding this...I bought a 1010 a few months back and realized that the systainer it came in did not contain a serial number. Also the tool is dated 11/10. Any thoughts?

Just contact Festool and supply the serial number and ask if it is registered to you.  They love to help out!

You're just wanting to know if it's registered? 11/10 is the manufacture date. The systainer may not always have the serial number on it.

I get shocked every time a post is made in the Ask Festool or Tool Problems section. So, please do so with care.  [scared]

Nah, I just set notifications on some of the sections of the forum and on certain threads. This is one of them.

How do they do that...register I mean?
If it's with those green cards, I doubt my purchases have been registered...

If it is a registered Festool dealer, they are registered when you buy them, but I don't know the process. You can call Festool customer support and they should be able to tell you if your tool is registered if you provide the serial number and probably even just your name.
