Regular domino's with PVC trim?

Gotta make a some window trim for a basement casement.  Was planning on using the Domino on the the miters, but didn't know they would react with the plastic stuff.  My plan is to glue with Gorilla, and support the miters with small tenons.  Anyone had problems with this type of install?

Oops.  Exterior.  Do folks use the PVC stuff on the inside?

Pvc can be used on the interior by code with a maximum thickness determined by code.  I though with this being a basement and humidity issues...

Exterior-wise, i use dominos, a pvc glue, and even pocket screws on the back to join stuff.  I use the dominos for positioning and reference, glue to mate the joints and thus encapsulate the domino, and the screws as permanent clamps and strength.  I use regular dominoes in this case.

I dont think thats a good idea. 

PVC trim with PVC glue bonds molecularly so using floating tenons out of wood would not improve the bond or strength.  I've never known of anyone using your described method and cant imagine it improving your quality.  The srews will be great for clamping pressure but I would eliminate the Domino unless its PVC.

The big benefit would be alignment during glueup, which is a huge pain.  I would use christy's red-hot white glue or the Azek brand, it will chemically weld the two pieces together.  Sipo mahogany dominos and your in business-

I only use the Dominos for initial alignment.  Not for strength.  The adhesive and the pocket screws provide the clamping and the strength to hold the joint tight.  For that reason I don't waste the money on Sipo versus the Beech Dominos.  If they rot later down the road so be it.  They will have done their job.

Its pretty easy to make your own dominos out of PVC. You don't have to worry about rounding the edges as the adhesive works well enough without.

Woodie, that's exactly what I did.  I made 5mm rips from 5/4" Azek and cross cut to length.  I made a couple hundred in a few minutes.
