Removable Wall Hanging Chisel Rack

I recently built myself a rack to hang my chisels on the wall. It has a blade guard at the bottom to prevent me hitting the sharp edges by accident and it can unhook from the wall to carry it to my bench. The blade guard then provides quite a wide base to keep it upright. It hangs on the wall with two “blind” cleats that slides into a recess at the back of the panel.

African Rosewood with Pine Shutterply.

Nice chisel holder. This is very similar to my chisel rack which is permanently mounted on the inside of a cabinet door beside my workbench. I have the same handle holder design and the tips sit very slightly into a slot in a piece of soft pine at the bottom. This keeps the chisels straight and from shifting around slightly. You may want to consider that since this is a movable rack.
Enjoy!

Thanks Mortiser,

Can you please post a photo of your pine slot?
