Removing the LS130 pad

I was playing with my new-used LS130 this morning.  I've read the owner's manual, but for the life of me I can't remove the pad.

I tried using the method in the manual, placing the back edge onto a table edge and pushing down.  I also tried upside down against the edge of a tablesaw top.  I've pushed as hard as I can, to the point of deforming the back edge, but I can't make the pad move at all.

It can't be this hard.  What could wrong here?

The LS130 pad can be used with or without screwing it down. Are you sure the screws are removed?

Yep, that was it.  The manual doesn't mention the screws until after the directions for the pad removal.  [mad]

Comes off easy as pie now  [embarassed]
