just pulled out my dishwasher to replace it with a cabinet for pots and a drawer.  Heading out to pick up stuff to fill the hole in the back wall and cap off water supply.  I would greatly appreciate the FOGers advice on the best way to go about doing this, as I haven't made any cabinets yet.  Would like it to closely match what is there.  Attached are some pics of what I'm working with.
Thanks guys!

Chris

What no more dishwasher?
I would just copy what is there (use the existing drawers and doors for sizes, edge profile etc.) for the time being...and when you have some time, rip all those cabinets out, fix the wall and build new cabinets with some euro hinges and runners.
Make sure to put a box on the end of that electrical cable.

Thanks tim.  Going to try to sell the house this spring/summer, so I don't want to redo all the cabinets.  Once we get a new place, I'll be making custom cabinets and built-ins... That's the plan anyways.  And yes.. These cupboards are horrible.... I will be throwing a fresh coat of paint on them all this spring though.

Those look to be fairly simple '50's plywood cabinets and most of the construction is straight forward. You should be able to glean enough information from a close examination of the existing ones to create one to fill that space.
I have friends with similar cabinets ...

Maybe you should just consider putting the house up for sale with the kitchen "as-is" and offer a buyer credit on the new cabinetry they will get.  It will save you the time and cost of paint.

Paint is cheap for me, plus I already have it from the last time.  Also, I have a HVLP now, so the doors will go quick.

Perhaps a pull out drawer up on top and a pull out trash/recycle bins on the bottom?

However I'm in agreement with mastercabman. If you're intent is to sell it in 6 months, many buyers would rather see a dishwasher in place.
