Replacing lube / grease of Festool Drill gearbox (T18)

Hi all,

I've got a T18, which I really like a lot, that has become slightly less smooth than what I think it was originally.

Nothing serious, it's not gritty or anything, just not as butter smooth as it used to be.

The first thing I can think of would be to replace or at least add some good grease in the gearbox. But I dont know how to access it. Or even if it can be done without some special tools. Pretty certain it's not the bearings. The gearbox might be running a little dry is all.

Has anyone any info on this ?

I opened a T15 of me once. First thing that happened was 6 or 7 gears jumped out and it was quite the puzzle to get them all properly back in, not something I'd do again without thinking twice about it.

If you go to the Festool parts catalog Ekat, you can find an exploded view of the T18. Hope that helps.
