HI! Approx 5 years ago, I bought a router table top from Rockler. This was before I knew about Incra. I have enjoyed my router table, but decided to upgrade to the Incra LS Positioner and other accessories. The old table was too small and would require lots of modification/additions to work with the LS Positioner, dust collection system etc. So I decided to buy a new, larger table from Incra.
This leaves me with an unloved Rockler table top, fence etc. I've learned that people in my neighborhood aren't into this type of stuff (or already own their own) so I don't think I could sell it for much.
I would love to own a drill press table and was thinking about building one, then I said "Hey, I already have a laminated top!". I am not sure what to do about the rectangular hole. I have considered just putting a large sacrificial plate in the center. I also have been considering changing it to a circle. My plan also includes cutting off the side grooves and replacing it with t-track. I just figured out that I could rotate it so that what was the front (with the miter track) could be on the back, likely removing the miter track. That leaves me with lots of room on the front for my t-track along the front and sides.
Questions:

If you found yourself with an extra Rockler router table top, what would you do with it?

Let's say I want to replace the miter track with T track...The t-track is narrower, so how would you fill the gap?

How would you deal with the router plate hole? Just make sacrificial pieces to fit? Or would you attempt to fill it? Or attempt to change the shape?
All ideas/wisdom are greatly appreciated!
