Review of Festool: Cleantex ctl 26, product number: 583490

I have some jobs around my house and among the things I will have some brick grinding dust. Nothing special some 10 to 20 bricks. Can this tool handle such tasks or is it just for designed for wood dust. I just got my CTL 26 and it is still brand new so I wouldn't want to damage it.
One more question is CTL 26 AC more suited to that kind of dust?

The regular ctl can handle the brick grinding dust perfectly. Because of the selfclean bags you won't lose the suction power as you would with a vac with paper bags.

As to your question  it the ctl26 AC would be more suited to that kind of dust... Yes, if you would use the vac for a lot of grinding dust/ drywall sanding dust. But if those tasks are just occasional I would go for the regular ctl.

OK. I will for CTL 26. Thank you for the tip.

hello Frank-Jan.

great review!
one thing i am curious about is if it ever bothered you that on the ct26 the back wheels are one axe and won't turn individually?
i've got a pretty much brand new ctl33 240v but i might change it to a ct26 110v. not sure yet.

another thing, as you have, or had both models...do you feel any difference in sturdiness and stability.
i am asking because a lot of products throughout different ranges and fields are saving money in production and therefor built quality is neglected.
i honestly can't imagine festool would save money on quality but i was just wondering.

cheers,

Philipp.

I have a CT22 since many years and bought a CTL26 last year. Booth live in my shop and I constantly lean towards the CTL26 when booth are idle and I need one of them. The CTL is such a great machine. I love the way the bag fills up completely from the bottom up evenly distributed since the suction comes from above the bag.

I'll put my CT22 out for sale soon and buy one more CTL.

Hello Phillip,

Sorry for the late reply, but as someone already mentioned in your other thread, allthough they are mounted on an axle, they can turn individually.

I do feel a difference, but in a positive manner. The CTL26 feels better built than my CT22. Mainly because of the construction of the rear wheels, and the hose garage, that is now no longer an add on, but integrated in the design. The front part of the hose garage has broken 2 times on my ct22, by loading too heavy stuff on top in the back of my van.

I still have and use my ct22, but soon after I got the ctl26 I bought an ex demo boom arm for it, I have taken it to jobsites since, but the push handle that remains on the vac when you take off the boom arm, makes it more awkward to load and carry.
