Review of Festool: Sys STF D 150 abrasive Systainer (#487431)

I don't mess with the inserts, I don't like how it stores the paper.

I use a sys 3 to store my 125 paper, in full boxes.

I use a sys 2 to store my DX93 and RAS paper.

Is there any chance you would be willing to post some pictures? I want to make a system that works. I don't think I'm going to have more than 7 grits max, so the insert (although I think it's a flawed design) will work.

Sure, later tonight I will do that.

Being a woodworker who only has to work in my shop, I don't need to take abrasives anywhere but need them organized. I'll make my own organizer that will be exactly what I need. I imagine if I needed these on the road, I would be tempted to settle for festool's "here-ya-go" offering (I'd still make my own I bet. I got more than 5 grits and more than their @400 disk capacity, I'll whip something up, it'll be fun. I like design and the thinking of it.  I heard the plastic in the abrasive systainers is thin like a solo red plastic cup. Beware there. Good luck with Festool abrasive systainer offerings.

Hey, I'm all for random musings and am not above criticizing festool - but is there a point to this revival Gravy ?

Well, until you have first hand info it might be more prudent to reserve comment.  It's more sturdy than a solo cup. But it's still plastic, not myrrh.  I don't think anyone needs a caution on this either they've been out a while and are the same material and construction as the systainer inserts.  Systainers are plastic too .  And something all of us are capable of building out of wood to be much sturdier than a systainer ever could be. Point is, so what.  It a box to store sandpaper which isn't going to be rough on its container.  I've got cardboard boxes of sandpaper from last century that are still in good order.

Make your insert and post it, I'll bet more than a couple of people would be interested in that.

I’m looking for the best solution for 125 and 150 abrasive media storage in systainers. So please post that custom solution!
