Review of the new kapex stand

Hey Kreg, where's the dust extractor ?
or has it "been removed for clarity" [big grin]

I think the rolling cage for the saw looks great and would be very handy but the dewalt stand is great and much cheaper, im not so sure i could drop £500 on the festool stand personally.

I have recently purchased a Kapex but will make a few changes to my Dewalt stand/table to accommodate it.

UK memeber!

Where in UK m8?

Its well worth £500!  Easy on your body as you can roll it around! It saves you time which in turn saves you money because less trips to and from the van  [tongue]

Hey steve will the kapex not go straight on to the dewalt brackets? I have a dewalt 718 with the dewalt stand at the mo its a great set up but the saw has too much play in it for real precise stuff, lookin at a kapex and hoped it woul drop straight onto the dewalt stand...

Hey jmb, penzance cornwall mate, i think the cage with the wheels is a great idea and a back saver! But its the supports im not so keen on oh and the price tag...

It will just sit on the table which mounts with the brackets. I going to make some side extensions.
I made this table so I have a place for "stuff", glue, collins clamps, sandpaper, etc. when trimming.
Someone else posted their adapter plate.

JMB,

It's possible it was either removed in the server change or maybe Shane felt it violated the forum's safety rules doing the circus acrobatics on it?

i got mine from toolsave for £400 [big grin]

The kapex wings are a heck of a lot more sturdy and practical then the Dewalts. They sag. Plus the repeat stops are not that accurate  I know cuz I used to have one.  Glad it works for you

The Dewalt wings do sag a bit when loosened, but in general, they offer all the support you need for up to 16' boards considering you can slide the saw at any point on the main stand rail.  I'm not sure what you are talking about in terms of repeat stops, as there is no measurement provision on it, just some flip up stops.

But for $150-180, and 35lbs., the Dewalt stand is a model of sturdy lightweight simplicity.

Seems silly to compare them as one is about 1/6 the price of the other.
