Morning guys trying to figure out if this is in my head or I have a problem. When I use my RO150 in fine mode it seems to spin up too fast and plow into the surface for a moment. Once I get it under control if works great. Never noticed it until the last project sanding job. The unit is only 6months old. Could there be a brake issue or is it just me.

thx

If you just turn it on and look at the pad does it spin wildly? If so, it may be a pad brake issue.

If you need warranty repair, contact the Canadian Service Center at 613-363-0169. We pay shipping to and from during the first year.

It may not be the same problem, but when i had a Bosch sander it suddenly did the same, spinning like an angle grinder. I removed the pad and put it back on and it worked normal again. Maybe that helps, it can't hurt to blow out the dust while it's open as well.

Thanks Shane, when I start it up it does seem to spin like crazy. It also only started doing this after I sanded some kilz primer. Did remove pad and clean out all the white paint dust, but it may also still be in the brake.

Ok, all fixed, Release pad, found surface has buildup and has become polished. Clean off buildup and polished surface, refit pad, test, all ok.
