RO 90 DX - Side guard for the DX pad.

I love my RO 90.  It's a "must have" tool.

One thing is missing, though:

Festool offers side-guards for the circular pad, but none for the DX (triangle) pad.  Every time I use the DX pad in a corner, I wear-away some of the pad's hook & loop material.  This is aggravating.  I have had to buy a bunch of DX stickfix pads (the part in-between the abrasive & the main pad) and am changing them constantly.

Granted, sometimes you need to get right into an edge, but many time a triangle guard would be wonderful to have. - Especially if it were very thin.  Maybe made of metal instead of plastic?

The hook and loop pad doesn't wear from side contact. It wears on the bottom. The delta pads wear out quickly, there is nothing to do about that.  I noticed that when I got my DX 93. The Festool pads wear out a lot faster than the pad of the Metabo I previously owned. The material of Festool's delta pad is too soft in my opinion. But a side guard for the RO 90 wouldn't prevent that wear.

Hmmm.  Maybe

In my case, I see the pad wearing down even though there is still sandpaper fully covering the bottom, so maybe it depends upon how you are using / holding the sander?
