Soft HT Long-Life Pad
HT stands for high-temperature, particularly when using gear-driven mode. As the name implies, the pad material is designed to better withstand aggressive sanding tasks without damage due to heat build up. Note: This is the original pad included with the RO 90 DX. Delta pad is not HT.

Polishing Accessories
There is a wide range of polishing accessories for nearly every application from applying wood finishes to automotive polishing.

Due to the number and variation of polishing pads, felts, and other polishing accessories we cannot list them all. Please see the Festool Power Tool website or your preferred Festool dealer for more information.

Interface Pad
The interface pad is best for super smooth finishes or contoured surfaces. This pad acts as a cushion between the sander and abrasives. Not well-suited for aggressive sanding.

Thanks Bob, I am pretty sure that, at that price, I will purchase one next year.

Do you expect that I will find that this sander can do everything that my Deltex DX 93 can do?

Count me in.  Am I reading the pad compatibility list correctly, the RO90 pads can be attached to the RO125 too, or am I misreading this?

Bob, any news on pricing for the CARVEX?

Hey Frank,

I am thinking yes, the Deltex and RO 90 share the exact same gear-driven orbital sanding action, the same pads and the same abrasives. The  RO 90 actually has more power 400W vs. 150W with the Deltex. Check this recent thread for more opinions.

Just a heads up... We have given our dealers advance access to the RO 90 product website that contains tons of information, videos, photos, accessories, pricing, etc. That site will be made available in its entirety to customers on Monday and you can devour all of the juicy details for yourselves.

Thanks Bob.  I guess that I will soon be attempting to sell my Deltex (but maybe there will not be much demand for it).

Jesus,

Your in!  Nope, the pads are not compatible. Don't have CARVEX  pricing though. Shane?

Bob

No pricing for the Carvex has been released. The launch of the Carvex is pretty far away. Prices usually aren't announced until 2-3 months prior to the release of a product. We do plan a 2011 catalog which will be available on or around March 2011. I would expect to see pricing in that. Sorry I don't have more information to share.

$375 seems like a really good price.... especially given that its really 2 or 3 or more sanders in one nice little package.

Well, the good news is that  you can use your Deltex papers on the RO 90.

Bob

I could see getting it if my DX93 died.

I like just grabbing my DX when I need it and not change pads and such.

If you didn't have a DX93 then get the RO90 for sure.

Ha!  Good timing.  I think I've talked a coworker into getting one of these (he owns zero Festool at the moment).  He wants to sand his siding in the spring so they can repaint.  Clean off the flaky paint and clean up the corners and nooks and crannies, up on a ladder.  It reminded me of Frank Pellow's cabin project, and screamed Festool.  So, I suggested the RO90 as the perfect solution.

The RO90 certaibly wouldhave come in handy on that job.  But, I would not have wanted to take on the whole job without the RO150.  The RO150 covers a much much bigger area than the RO90, and sanding wide expanses with just the RO90 would have been quite tedious.

My thoughts exactly.  I expected it to be about $100 more.

That is a fantastic price. In the UK for example, the RO 90 is 380 GBP, which is about $600.

Any idea what the cost will be in Canada?

For Canada add at least 27%. LS130 $340.00 USD - $430 CDN so $375 USD - $476 CDN. On a trip across the border I picked up some Festools supplies not readily available at home and came back through Customs and had to pay. I was told by the demi-gods at Customs that Canadians have to pay an additional 10% duty on products originating in Germany. Might be part of the reason for such a ridiculous difference.

I was thinking the same...
