Rockford Construction gives their unbiased review of the Festool Track Saw TS 55 EQ with plunge cut capabilities.
See what they had to say about this saw.

What a shame they didn't have the saw connected to an extractor for the review.

I thought it was a good review, but agree it would have been nice to at least make mention of the extractor.  This at least gives a good perspective of how much dust is sent out the port without proper DC.

Was just gonna say the same. 6 minutes and you didn't mention dust collection, limit stops, p. guides, p. fence, and you got a guy who doesn't like to say much?

We would love to also review their dust extractor also.  Everyone seems to love the dust extraction system by Festool.  Hopefully we will be able to publish a review soon.  Thank you all for sharing your thought on the video.

The Dust Extractor really shouldn't be considered a separate element. It's a system...

Maybe not a full review at the same time, but it should have been mentioned as a "feature" rather than all the shots of it spewing dust out on the track.

Being able to hook it up to a dust extract (not even necessarily Festool's) is a feature; one which my old Craftsman circular saw does not have. I'm sure that came into play during the hotel renovation project they discussed.

I'm really surprised that they didn't focus more on the track, since that's an integral part of the TS saws. I also note that no mention was made of the anti-splinter features, even though they focused on finish carpentry.

They neglected to issue a warning to potential buyers the addictive qualities of the FESTOOL product line. I started with a TS55 about $10,000 dollars ago. Not complaint. Just saying.... [big grin]
