You stopped at too low of a grit...  [poke]

Switch over to RO mode and use a finer grit to get a nice finish.

Just took off some skin, never bled. So maybe I should try it again with a coarser grit?

Nah, time to switch to the saw.  And not that wimpy 'lil TS55 either.  You'll want to get out your checkbook -- with your good hand, of course -- and write a check for a new TS75!  Now you're cookin'.  [wink]

It's funny, because the only power tool that ever nicked me was not my (now gone) table saw, or router, or bandsaw or TS saws, but the Rotex. I left it in the on position and replugged it and had my hand  right there. Anyhow, no biggie, but  reinforces that any tool, hand or power, can hurt you if not careful.

I meant to post some photos I had when my ro125 eat one of my favorite shirts.  I was in rotex mode working on a radius when it got traction and sucked up my shirt and was eating at my belly skin.  Rotex one, Chris zero.

You are not alone.  I sanded the palm of my hand with my rotex a few weeks ago -- not badly, but enough to feel it...holding the bottom of the board and got too close to the rotating pad.

is the 150 really that much more powerful than the 125?

Nope it isn't, at least not in this regard. The 125 will do this to you to without problem. Any sander will, you just need a sharp edge. My DS400 just ate through the hose of my CT Mini this week by accident.

Anyway, this cut of the OP isn't that bad. My father once had to get 7 stitches after a new angle sander cut really deep into his hand.

I was just thinking about controlling sanders & proper technique ...........

GP,

Your palm reader will have to come up with an interpretation for your new Rotex line.

By the way, can the Rotex now be considered a "Palm Sander"?
