Hello everyone,
I'm fairly close to pulling the trigger on a router purchase but have a question for FOG members concerning Festool routers.  Since the scale is metric and I'm in the good old USA, do you ever find it frustrating/difficult to get perfect results working with plywood measured using imperial units?  Not a debate on which is better, how to convert, etc. just if it's a easier to use a router with imperial units on the scale working on imperial sized material?

Thanks!

Download Convertobot to match up mm to inches. I converted years ago and never looked back. I know you are looking for a way to make it all work. This is the way to do it.

You ether need a stick on label to make the saw and stock both imperial
or
Convert you stock to mm ad work in imperial.

Personally it does not matters for me, but everyone is different.

I just use gauge blocks to set depths of the router. I can't remember the lat time I have even had to convert anything when using a router.

I use a conversion on my phone and use a combination of imperial and metric...I just bought the four sizes of Woodpecker rules and stops.  It is so much easer in the long run to convert to metric.  Oh, and I'm going to be 63 in two months so it is possible for an old dog to learn new tricks.

I just use metric .

Takes a while but it does get easier.

I find ya always lose something in conversion .

Most importantly, don't bounce back and forth. If ya go imperial stay imperial, if ya go metric, stay metric, but not half and half

Well the callipers do both imperial and metric, so I mark with a pencil.
Then do as you do and just eyeball to the mark, or have some block equivalent.  [embarassed]
