Hi Foggers,

Looking for a edge trim router to compliment the new Ka65.

Having a quick look at the Festool options, OFK 700 MFK700 what are the pros and cons of both.

Might just be my quick look but they look virtually the same.

Any experiences?

HI,
The MFK motor has thermal protection and the OFK does not.

Thanks all,

Still a little curious it seems the MFK has the modular bases ie more versatile yet it costs less than the OFK. Unless I am missing something glaringly obvious.

William Ng has a good idea. Haven't tried it yet but interesting. watch for trimming around the 6:50 mark

I went with the OF 1010 for a trim router, along with using it on the LR32. By the time you add up all the accessories, though, it gets expensive. Pretty cool, though, with the edging plate and various accessories. I was after something smaller than my OF-1400, but able to do some hinge mortising more easily, and set up for the LR32.

Just another option... I didn't want just a trim router, though I use it a bit for that.

I was thinking more for a dedicated trim router, I have the OF 1400 for handheld stuff and a router table for other items. So it was really for the larger work pieces that are cumbersome on the router table.

So for a dedicated trim router what would people go for the MFK or the OFK?
