Hello. This is my first post so please be gentle with me :)
Has anybody managed to mount a router on to a cs50/70 ? Thus utilising the table and fences. Looks as though it would not be to hard to take out the removable top panel and replace with an alu sheet (ca 8mm) cut to fit with a router mounted underneath. Anyone tried it ? considered it? disgarded it as a bad idea?

hi there. welcome.
you wont get a lot of feedback as most on here can t biy that tool and most of the rest wont have seen it either.
i presume you mean take the right hand extention off and replace that with a router insert. i am not sure if it can be don to that saw but if it fits it should work fine althow the sliding table will be a long way away from the router.
i would try and put the router behind the sawv so that it is closer  to the sliding table. and make a fence for it. put it 90 degrees to the saw and use it from the back mostly.
you would have to take off the fence to use the saw  thow

The CS50 and CS70 don't have a removeable top panel like the CMS. There's just a thin strip on the left side that is removeable to give you access to the sled underneath for blade change. Furthermore, the top panel is heavily ridged on the underside so there is no place to fit a router in. Sounds like a crazy idea to me.

Why don't you simply buy the CMS with router insert?

Hi,

I'm working with the cs, but only as a saw ;-) ...
I also thought about replacing parts of the top, but I didn't because of two reasons:

1. It's much easier to have an extra routertable to work on. (less changing parts, better accuracy and remember
you have to calibrate your saw after every change...

2. You would need a second fence on your cs.... one with a gap for the bit...

So for me it would not make much sense...
