I received some 1/2" baltic birch plywood from a friend,  It has a thin layer of paint on both sides, probably sprayed on and oil based.  I would like to use the wood to build the sides of drawer boxes so I will need to cut to dimension with my T55.  I will also need to rout dovetails and round-over the top edges.  Do I risk damage to my tools ?  I understand the need for dust collection and a good mask to avoid inhalation.

I have never noticed any increased wear on bits or blades when working with painted wood.
