While surfing the web I came across what appears to be a German company producing a product called the Systainer - Mobil.  It appears to be a mobile Systainer Port work bench.  Instead of drawers for the Systainers there is a rod that has attached shelves that the Systainers rotate outboard on to make the lids accessible.  Is anyone familiar with this company?  I have no German connections to purchase nor at this point am I wanting to.  It is just that I searched the FOG site and cannot find any reference to what appears to be an interesting "piece of kit" as Peter P would say.

I don't know that I see the advantage to that setup. Not only do you need the area open in front of the systainers - just like with a drawer system - you also need an area open on the side since it has to swing out and forward...

Am I missing something?

I guess the almost infinite adjustment in the height of the shelves by simply moving the collar up the shaft (for what that is worth).  Other than that I don't see an advantage at first glance either.  Possibly the shaft and revolving trays may be cheaper than the shelves and sliders.  I really don't see an advantage yet either.

I think there'd be weight limits too. It wouldn't suit my wants or needs, but I can imagine suitable specialist applications.

Weight limits would be Mitigated by having two, or four, shelf sets. I think the concept might be real nice for some folks. RUWI has some really nice products for the serious cabinet guys, like ten spindle router tables, highly versatile workbenches, etc. their website is a little clunky but there are about a half-dozen videos worth watching.

This form of shelving is usually for very heavy loads. Common for heavy tooling in machine shops. The planer bearing in the pivot can carry  more  load than drawer roller bearings.  I am not saying this particular set up is superior given the nature of the loads and life cycles and material but this design can if well engineered can be very durable and robust.
