Looking for advice in an area I know nothing about being a City kid. Found out yesterday my in-laws went out and bought themselves a 32' RV of some kind as a Christmas present to each other. I don't have any other details since my wife was too disgusted when she found out to ask any questions.
So I'm thinking this is an easy out for me in terms of what to get them as a Christmas present, something RV. Unfortunately I don't know what the heck that would be?
Suggestions Please.

Unless it came pre-loaded ( and some do)  How about a kitchen set, pots, pans, cookware, etc.  Linens, towels...

Since you're a city guy, think of most of the stuff it would take to outfit a new apartment.

How about one of those nice cargo trailers to pull behind it ;~)
But seriously, one of those small camping barbecues would be nice.

Knowing what type of RV it is would help.  There is alot of accessories to buy when you get an RV for the first time, it's like a second house.  Visit your local Camping World for some ideas.  Tank treatment may not be received well wrapped under the tree.

A custom cutting board for over the sink is always a nice upgrade, and you can never have enough levelling blocks when you have an RV(kind of like clamps and woodworking).

How about a roof-mounted PV system to charge the batteries when they're parked so they don't need to run the genny as often?  EarthRoamers (http://www.earthroamer.com) come with three 185 watt panels on the roof that provide sufficient power to charge two 255 amp/hour batteries and allow the furnace or a/c to run overnight without running the engine.

Firstly:-
Talk to your in-laws and ask questions, huge brownie points gained from them and an idea of what they might need. [thumbs up]

Secondly:-
When they visit you might not have to set up a room for them ;)

Seriously they need lots of extra kit, though we found with our smaller version some quick and easy recipes for those times we are away from 'civilisation' were a huge boon. (pic of our 'home from home' below)

P.S. A UK site called 'Motorhome Facts' has a huge amount of info for newbies and long termers alike and has members from all over. give it a look.
