Sander maintenance

I have a RO 90 sander that has developed a "chirping" sound when I sand. It is not a continuous nor is it rhythmic but happens each time I use it now. Is there a place that you can lubricate the motor without taking the unit apart? I have had the sander for about a year. My shop is not heated but I did not think that was the cause as my RO 150 does not make the sound and I have used them both about the same amount of time. Any suggestions?

Have you removed the pad and cleaned the fine dust out of the housing?

There's a drive belt from rear-to-front. I'm guessing that's chirping.

Like Tom suggested, it's likely the belt, possibly from dust buildup. You could try using a compressor to blow through the vents, but you may not see a change. It may require servicing since disassembly may be required.

Edit: let me add this is the first time I've read of this issue.

My R150 (4months old) did this for a while, I even thought of  discussing it on the FOG.
I thought it might be due to air movement around saw dust and it only occurred randomly and in first 15 seconds of switching it on. I vacuumed it each time I changed pads and recently the noise appears to have disappeared.

I have not cleaned out the area under the pad for a while with compressed air or with the dust extractor. I always do a quick visual inspection and tap out dust or scrape with a finger if there is enough there. I will do both operations this weekend. Thanks for the input.
