Sander recommendations for a hobbyist / home improvement type

I tried the sanders at the local dealer today (thanks for the suggestion).  I only used them for a few minutes.  I could feel some numbness after the Rotex.  I may be sensitive to vibration though.

Does anyone know if the RO125 has an edge guard?  I see the RO150 one does, but it is unclear if the RO125 one does.

Thanks!

The original model didn't have one, but the design was revised and the current model that you should find on sale does accept an edge guard, as per the following photo:

A discussion on the edge guard, close-up photos of old and new models, and tips for converting from old to new (so that you can fit the edge guard) can be found at Rotex RO 125 Sander - Why no edge guard

What isn't clear is whether the current-model Rotex RO125 comes with the edge guard in the Systainer as part of the package, or whether is has to be purchased as an accessory. Perhaps someone could confirm this?

A feature that the RO150 has that is missing on the RO125 is the removable side handle (either side).  It makes long sanding sessions more comfortable.

For the 150, there is also an alternate auxiliary handle that clips onto the front.  I found it much more comfortable for surface sanding and easier to keep from digging at coarse grits.  The side handle puts me in a grinder mood and I tend to aggressively dig.  As someone who lost his side angle handle, I can atest to the fact that the side handle for the Makita grinders will fit.
