Hey guys,

Does anyone have any info about how to choose the right speed for a ETS sander or for that fact any sanders. We have the adjustment on the sander, but the manual doesn't really do anything other than to identfy it.
I really would like to get the most of the sander.

You will almost always want to use top speed, 6.

If you are using the sander for polishing applications or very high grits for a ultra-fine finish, then you can adjust it to a lower speed.

Using the highest speed helps the sander overcome the friction of the sandpaper.

Use the lower speeds on narrow or edge work to give more control ... lower speed light passes = no damage of work piece

Belt sanders are the creatures I'll frequently dial down, other than that it's generally all out with exceptions based on "feel" (where "feel" equals I'm not sure so I'll take it easy).
