I can manage to sand the bottom of a routered bowl if I stick a couple of interface pads on to clear the walls of the bowl, but with the interface pads comes less ability to get in there hard and remove some bits I'd rather weren't there. I was considering making a solid interface pad type of thing to allow me to use a little more force - in fact I did, out of MDF, just needed to get some adhesive velcro and stopped at that point realising I am about to attach a heavy disc of 25mm MDF onto a spinning machine and re-thought about using ply instead, with a hollow core to reduce weight.
When it comes to the side walls of the bowl a different problem becomes apparent. Namely getting into the transition between the bottom and the walls.
Any tips for either of these procedures please?
