Tristan,
My guess is that the image on the webpage was an early image supplied by Festool Germany. The Festool engineers like to design things to use metric allen head fasteners and if I am not mistaken the metal insert on your (and my) MFT is screwed into the top using an allen wrench. I can only think on one instance where they use the slotted screwdriver attachment and that is the guide rail connectors because they want to limit the amount of torque to help prevent distortion or dimpling of the rails. But the key here is that when you want to flip the top, you take out the bolts, take out the inserts, flip, insert again, and it is indexed just like it was before.
Maybe Shane knows the absolute answer.
