Hi all,

I am curious how i can get hold of one of these in the UK. I have seen someone I believe on here had it in Festool livery. I would be nice to hear back.

Hi Shane,

Thank you for a reply. I already had a look on their site for uk suppliers and sure enough there aren't any. Do you know if it would be possible import one though Festool UK in Festool livery, considering that both names are part of TTS Tooltechnik Group?

I've emailed Phil from Festool UK to get more info.

But, I don't think Schneider products are available as Festool products. They are separate companies.

EV,

I admittedly don't have a good knowledge of Schneider, but that looks like someone might have just dropped it in a Festool Systainer and painted the plastic around the gauges. Let's wait and see what Phil has to say.

Hi
Schneider air systems are part of TTS but they are not available through Festool U.K.

Thank you Phil, I think it would be a cheaper option to order through Schneider distributor as buying as a Festool branded Limited Edition, well it is frankly to much money for a compressor at €600 in comparison to under €400 for a Schneider.

Or if you don't need the Festool Gray systainer you can order from Gerschwitz for a little less money...

I managed to find so far even cheaper option via Amazon.de at €339 excluding shipping.

Good find tho.

Dang, that's quite the price difference.

Even though Toolnation ships to the UK, I've got a hunch they will not ship Festool products out of Holland. Festool always expressly forbids it, though with current European rules I am not sure it's even entirely legal to do so.

Not sure if Schneider has the same export limitations Festool has, so you can always try. I have ordered a couple of times from  Gerschwitz, and I can only say it is an excellent company with great and fast service, and a very international mindset. Would heavily recommend them.

That is a good thing to know and hear from someone who has used them. It is my worst nightmare trying out new shopping places especially online and even more so when they are abroad.

Thank you for the advice.

That compressor looks cool, but it's really noisy - 90dBA. You could get a better, quieter compressor elsewhere, and put it in a systainer, for a lot less.

I currently have one of these and it is noisy to. http://www.screwfix.com/p/stanley-dn-8-5-4-5ltr-portable-air-compressor-240v/22374, unfortunately it is to big to fit in a sustainer and to be honest it is to much of a bother to do something like this, considering it already has got a handle and not that heavy either. I just like the idea of systainers and their consistent sizes. There are low noise compressors out there but cost just as much as Schneider if not more. However if you are aware of any that are portable and compact then please let me know.

Well I'm torn ... something like this would be really nice, but I'm never going to turn it on if it's that noisy! [eek]

Bet there's no space inside for sound deadening material either.

I wonder if you could use something like DynaMat that they use for deadening sound in car doors, etc? It's not very thick, but it is heavy...

Prebena still has their offering in the old style systainer

Amazon.de

Price is somewhat higher, more output, less noise (75dB), more weight (23,5kg vs 13 kg), smaller tank (2L vs 6L)
