Just a small project I've had on my list since the house was finished two years ago. The front doors (ours and the granny unit) have a big "speak easy" built into them which is nice for letting in fresh air during the summer. My mom likes to use hers to vent the house at night, but the flies and bugs kept getting in.
So I finally got around to making a couple of screened frame inserts to match the main doors. Knotty Alder.
Here are the pics. I used 6 mm dominos for the joint, then traced the speakeasy door to make a plywood template for routing the top curve.
I used the 1400 on the edge guide to cut 3 of the slots for the screen bead, but I forgot to cut the top one before I shaped the curve. SO I put the 1400 on the Festool track to keep a nice straight line.
Frames under construction:

Finished and with screen in place:
