Scribing a triangular shelf into a corner

I have a question about scribing a triangular shelf into a corner.

I have a closet that has this triangular section that comes out from one of the corners.  The triangular section only comes up from the floor a few feet, as this section is the builder's attempt to conceal some HVAC ducts that weren't routed as well as they could have been.

I just did some remodeling in the closet, and unfortunately, I had the walls drywalled before I put the shelf on.  So now I need to add the shelf and am curious how I would scribe two sides into a corner.

Is there a way to do this?  If so, how?  Thanks!

Sounds like the easiest way to handle that will be to use a piece of cardboard or similar to make a pattern. Cut to match the shelf, hold in place, scribe both sides. Cut it out and test fit until it is right. Then transfer to the shelf. You can do as many trial and error attempts as needed until it is exactly right.  [thumbs up]

Use two triangular bits of something that are over half the size of the radius you are trying to figure out. Then use them like a pair of scissors, opening them to the right size but pivoting into the point of the triangle and scribe onto them.

Quit smoking years ago, it's a shame to use actual paper for my diagrams now instead of the back of a fag packet.

To our American friends "FAG" is slang for cigerettes here in the UK  [big grin]

Exactly who needs sketch up /auto cad

Fag packet is the way forward

Maybe an idea for a new app

May need to revise the name to match up with your intended market.

That makes sense.  You can sketch out how much you need to grind off to scribe.

For most uses I use the Fastcap Accuscribe, but as soon as I have to get into scribing angles I go to the hot glue and hardboard to make a template.

I use a framing square and a tape measure, set the long leg on the back wall and the short leg into the  corner,  measure the distance for your shelf depth. Connect the dots and cut.

Use two offcuts of ply the right length scribe the wall by running the pencil flat on the wall whilst marking the ply on both sides use these to mark the shelf use Kapex angle finder to get the right angle in the corner.
