Senco fusion nailers

the 15 on the senco leaves freaking huge hold.
I think vaguely remember something about how the nails penetrates the wood on the senco.

I preferred the 16 on the paslode. The holding difference between the two is supposed to be nominal, but the 15 for sure leaves a much more noticeable hole on the senco than the paslode

The supply house here said that some customers have had to return theirs two or three times.

Well we got two guns delivered this week to try out , opened the box and found they were they old style NOT the Fusion guns, bloody fixings supplier trying it on  ::) [mad] I thought they sounded too cheap. These guns are slow and the nails are weird they look like mini clipped head nails I bet they are hard to get and they leave a huge hole. Needless to say they will be going straight back.

Hey, that's a lousy way to try to rip a customer off... ...and a sure way to lose business long term.

Anyway, I have no experience with the 15GA, only with the 18GA, it does no harm to the material and does a fine job, I can recommend it. It does not lack power and is a good substitute for a compressor driven nail gun. (Which it is, really.) I have enjoyed working with it so far, nice to not have to lug the compressor (even though I have a Sil-Air, silent model).

Hi all,

I thought I would give you all some feedback on some of the points you've raised....

- The 16-gauge Fusion tools will be available in the UK in February 2012. The 15 & 18-gauge tools are already out here.
- Nope, you can't put 15-gauge nails in a 16-gauge tool or vice versa.
- The non-firing of the tool after 3 seconds is actually a safety feature! It stops the tool firing if you rest it against a body part! Its an attempt to make the tool the safest available on the market.
- As regards weight, the tool is actually lighter then the Dewalt tool.
- The 16-gauge nail does obviously leave a smaller hole in the timber than the 15-gauge.

In the UK we're keeping everyone up to date with things at our Fusion website www.sencofusion.co.uk, so take a look there for the very latest news.

And if anyone's got any other questions or comments please post them; it's great to get feedback from the guys actually using the product.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year !

Old thread, but thought I'd update my experience after a year and half or so.

Senco Fusion F-15 died. No Light, No Fire.

Senco customer support answers quickly enough. They referred me to a few places that (supposedly) service the gun. 2 of the places called say they don't service them (huh?)
3rd guy is out of town for next 2 weeks. 4th guy I went to asked where the hose goes *smacks forehead.

Additionally I call back 2 days later and ask what's going on with my gun. Not even sent out yet...and to boot, they send it away a few states away. WTH?! How about mentioning that before? So twiddling my thumbs, I'm thinking about picking up the JC10 and a nice trim nail gun (suggestions anyone?),
Uggghh...I seem to be ditching cordless and going back to corded for everything

Yeah I reckon they were a bit of a flop if you ask me. Too expensive and nowhere near as reliable as they should have been. The dewalt guns are pretty good I've used them for a few years without problems. Hopefully they will bring out one with the newer type batteries.

I've been really happy with Porter Cable

We never had success with them, regretfully.  We were really hoping for a hit.  Seemed like revolutionary technology, but the reliability never was there, even after a year or two to work the kinks out.

Hi all. I bought one in the UK after lots of assurances from Senco about how good they were. Had a duff battery out of the box and I later found it was a known problem. After various messing about, which cost me over 1 days work, I sent it back and got a refund. Needless to say I wouldn't get another unless they PROVE themselves reliable; if they have a problem but dont check their stock it seems rather a bad show.

Update.
Still using mine on a regular basis. The only issue I have is the batteries. I called senco a few months ago and complained about the batteries not holding a charge over a day, Also have a dead battery. They had an issue and came out with a revision. I missed out by a few months, new charger and better battery. They changed the company that makes their batteries. Senco did tell me not to leave them out in freezing temps over night, The computer chip on the board can't handle it, or something like that.  Kinda crappy because every contractor I know has a work van/truck or trailer and leave all their tools in vehicles over night. I still use the 2 out of 3 old batteries, just now I charge them as soon as I get on the job. Wired my trailer up so I can put it in the drive way an plug it in over night to charge batteries and when the time comes a small heater to protect batteries, caulk and other items from freezing. Guess when the time comes I will replace the old senco batteries.

Other than that I still luv using them and have no other problems.
